Aswan and Kazan Film Fests: Cooperation Agreement Signed

Today the director of Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, Milyausha Aituganova, and the president of Aswan Women International Film Festival, Magdy Ahmed Ali, have signed a cooperation agreement.

“This event has a high significance for us. Aswan festival aims to discover new films. Kazan can help is to implement this goal. Your progressive vision will be well welcomed in Egypt”, admitted Magdy Ahmed Ali.

The agreement with Aswan film festival is the first cooperation agreement for Kazan Muslim Film Festival. The intention of cooperation evolved during the visit of Kazan delegation the first Aswan Women International Film Festival held in February, 2017.

“It is well-known that Russia assisted Egypt to construct Aswan Dam. It might be perceived as a heritage site symbolizing friendship between our countries. When I return to Egypt, I will write an overview of Kazan festival as well as I promote the city and the Republic of Tatarstan in Egyptian media”, said Magdy Ahmed Ali. He also highlighted that it is important to introduce Russian films, including Tatarstan ones, to Egyptian film market, which international films quota is fully occupied by US films. “I think the work of Tatarkino in this area is quite significant. We would like to use the experience of this company in our work in the future”, commented Magdy Ahmed Ali.
