(Kazan, 9 September, Tatar-inform, Kamil Asadullin). Film director script writer Alla Surikova, a People’s Artist of Russia, proposed holding an annual musical film and comedy festival Smile, Russia!. She said it at a news conference at Tatar-inform.

Alla Surikova is the Smile, Russia! festival’s author and president. The festival has been held since 2000 and will this year take place in Tula between 19 and 25 October.

“I want to suggest staging this festival’s echo here. There is so much aggression, war, anger, brutality, so many sad things today,” she said. “This is why I think promoting festivals like this makes sense. We have held Smile, Russia! in Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Astrakhan and Moscow.”

Alla Surikova arrived in Kazan to take part in the 10th Kazan Muslim Film Festival. On Wednesday, her latest adventure comedy for children Full Ahead will be presented and shown.
