A press-conference on the opening of the XII Kazan International festival of Muslim cinema (KIFMC) was held on 5 September in the Tatar Ministry of culture. XII International festival of Muslim cinema, which is being held from 5 to 11 September 2016 in Kazan, is one of the largest film festivals annually held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2005. Selected program includes films about peacemaking, tolerance, and the ways of building inter-ethnic dialogue. The festival concept is reflected in its motto: «Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue». The Ministry of culture of the Tatar Republic, Kazan City Municipality, and the Russia Muftis Council are the founders of the Kazan Film festival. It is traditionally held under patronage of Tatarstan President Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov.
